Biography
Mr. Martinez joined Markland Hanley in early 2011. His practice includes products liability litigation in which procedural
issues are of particular significance, as well as other technical issues. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government with High
Honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 2006, and graduated from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of
Law in May of 2010. He also studied abroad at Oxford University.
While in school, Aaron studied various topics, such as alternative dispute resolution, bankruptcy, business enterprises,
comparative human rights, consumer law, federal courts, evidence, international organizations, and trial advocacy. He also
participated in various advocacy competitions both on and off campus and in a legal clinic, providing legal services for the poor and
underprivileged. And in his spare time, he participated in intramural sports such as football and soccer.
Aaron is active in the legal and non-legal community here in Dallas, including memberships in the Dallas Bar Association,
Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Texas Exes, and The One Society (benefitting Children’s Medical Center). He has also
judged mock trial and moot court competitions for high school and law students alike. Before finishing college and law school,
Aaron also served his country in the United States Army Reserve in a deployment overseas to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom.
Aaron passed the Texas Bar Exam in November of 2010 and has been licensed in Texas ever since. Aaron is also admitted to
practice in the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas.
